31 boxes got shipped out today. The P.O. told me I had to use different boxes for the two Canadian swappers so those boxes will go out tomorrow.
I'm sorry for the delay but the swap was WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY more work than I thought. Silly me thinking I could do it in just a day, huh? Anyway, it was VERY FUN at the same time. I had my 10 yo son and 24 yo daughter help. I could not have done it without their help.
Almost everyone got MORE Valentines in your box than you sent out. That's because a number of people sent lots of Valentines. My sister, bless her generous heart, doesn't even have a computer but she wanted to join the swap so bad. She loves AG dolls and has four so far. Anyway, she sent oodles of little Valentines. She said "Please don't send any of my extra Valentines back to me. It would bless me so much knowing so many ladies and girls were enjoying my Valentines." So my daughter and I did just that and we decided that others may feel the same - that they would be more blessed to give away their extras than get them back. We swapped and swapped till there weren't any Valentines left. People who sent more Valentines did get a fatter package. But it turned out that everyone got more than they sent.
Except for one person, and I must apologize I got mixed up about it. I think someone sent maybe 78 Valentines but only got back 60 but I don't know who. If this is a problem, please let me know and I'll make more Valentines to make up that difference. I feel really bad about it and apologize. It was the only error we made in the swap and we didn't notice till all the boxes were sealed.
I took a couple photos but won't post them till after Valentine's Day. You'll just have to wait and be surprised!
Folks, you all made FANTASTIC Valentines! I saw all the ones without envelopes but there were lots in envelopes that I will be surprised with. I can't wait till Valentines Day!
Julia
Oh, Traveling Jessie says "I can't believe we finished! I thought it would never end! This is the most unusual activity I've ever participated in but it was sooooo much FUN! I want to do it again next year" to which I immediately said "Well, Jessie, I really appreciate all your help. But I have to rest a couple months before I even think of hosting again. "
p.s. THANK YOU to all those who enclosed a little extra with your shipping. My dh was very surprised you all did that. He chipped in so I could order what I've wanted for AGES. . . Kit's desk! It's a fitting tribute to the swap, since it involves writing and mailing. Now if only I could get you all to carve your initials in the bottom of it. Yes I'd do that in a heartbeat! Your sign of friendship would be engraved forever. [img]graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
Three cheers for the American Girl Fans!

Johanna, yes yours made it.
Ria, I'm a little confused. You only sent Valentines addressed to my dolls and didn't include any return postage so I figured you didn't want to join the big swap. So my & my sisters dolls got together and made some Valentines for you in return. [img]graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

I can't even begin to imagine how much time you spent on this. I'm so glad you are getting Kit's desk. How fitting.
We are very excited for the big day when our girls get their Valentines. My youngest niece made a little container for her Kit. It is so cute. Now we have to work on one for the other girls.
Thanks again!
